Turned on my friends and brought them pain. I have no right to show I can change. But I gotta try!

[nospaces] [attr="class","isaac2"] [attr="class","topimage"] [attr="class","textbox"] "Hey, you're talking to a Silph Cup champion here." That wasn't even the right type of footrace, and yet with Isaac's cheeky grin it almost seemed like he believed his own joke. "Think that means I know a thing or two about going fast."[break][break] No amount of harrowing traumas could suppress the urge to cheekily troll his friend.[break][break] That said, he couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow at how Josh described them. "Me? A soldier?" He remembered how he faced those who opposed him not with a sword, but with an open hand. How, even as Tempest Quinn and bryan delarosa came for his life, he could barely look them in the eye. How when Cillian Quinn ordered him to take a life, the mere concept left his hands trembling and guts heaving. How even when driven mad with grief in the face of Kiryu's death, annalise henderson stopped him from slipping into a killer's skin. "Ha. That's a good one."[break][break] He remembered the greatest mistake of his life, and how despite everything he chose to heal instead of harm.[break][break] "I don't think I've got a killing bone in my body."[break][break] Josh's job was a useful one. Top up League storehouses. Guard their communications. "Surprised you're not gonna be right there on the frontlines," Isaac mused. Even with their shared shock-and-awe fighting style Josh was always the more eager of the two to jump into the fray. "Always seemed your style, 'least to me. But maybe it's for the best we're not going in guns blazing. This isn't some uncharted island. We're gonna have people's lives in our hands."[break][break] The gravity Isaac felt as Swift charged full steam ahead was second only to the gravity he felt from the decisions they made. The war until now had been a proxy, nearly a distant memory. He'd seen the Deep Sea from one side's eyes, the Uncharted Isle from the other, and they were both the same. Just meaningless pissing contests far, far away from the mainland. Did Hoenn even remember there was a war?[break][break] They would now. It was coming to their doorsteps, the same ones the League had abandoned to Rocket years ago. For all intents and purposes, they had stopped becoming outsiders and started becoming sovereigns. Would the people even be on the League's side anymore? Or were any who had an issue with Rocket's rule long gone; adapting to their new forever, fleeing to brighter shores, or "disappearing."[break][break] Rocket's boldness, their recklessness, the way they struck at the League time and time again even on the edge of apocalypse . . . Isaac had long clung to the idea that it was the League's fault, and even now he wondered if he had been right to do so. They'd allowed every indulgence Rocket made, and only now sought to solve the problem. Was it too late to face the monster of their own creation?[break][break] It was a living paradox. The League was hard on the Rockets that sought asylum with them, and yet all too soft on the ones who perpetuated their crimes. The drums of war had beat before, over and over again, only to never come to crescendo. The League and Rocket stood side by side in crisis after crisis, only for Rocket to throw the first punch the second they felt safe. How long could this go on?[break][break] "Just means we're gonna have to do this right."
